ORG-STATIC-BLOG

This would be my fork of another fork of org-static-blog.

I have made a small handful of changes to enable it to work the way I would like for my blogging platform to work.

I do have my changes documented within another, private, repository. I had thought that I might have the system completely enclosed, but decided that I did not prefer that.

  • Templates have been altered a little.
  • I do not require the French Date, so while the functions are still there they are no longer used.
  • The published line has been altered a bit.
  • A simple navbar has been added.
  • The site uses Classless.css.
  • ..which means the export is now using ox-slimhtml as opposed to ox-html.
  • Added a card layout for the latest blog post on index page.
  • Added a configurable listing of number of latest post links on index page.
  • Added function to create new blog posts/pages/hidden files.
  • Added generator for tag rss feeds.

The original fork README follows below.

This is my personal fork of Bastian Bechtold's org-static-blog that I use to generate the site at joarvarndt.se. Maintaining my own version allows me to add unnecessary features that "work on my machine" but do not necessarily have to be very polished or easy to customise. It should however "work out of the box" and if you have any issues with it feel free to tell me about it. So far these are the additional features that my fork provides:

  • Adds "edit dates" for when an .org-file was most recently changed in git.
  • Adds support for listing publishing dates using the french republican calendar.
  • Typographical changes that uses proper curly quotes (“”) instead of blocky ones ("") — like in the tag pages.
  • Adds the dcap class to the first paragraphs to allow for CSS dropcaps.
  • Supports the #+subtitle org-mode header that otherwise works in HTML and LaTeX exports.
  • Automatically wraps segments of ALL-CAPS text as small caps (such as acronyms).
  • Archive front matter
  • End matter for multipost pages, with a variable for index front matter.
  • Supports the og-site_name open graph tag.

For how I integrate this fork into website generation see the website colophon.
